Lake Thunderbird is a reservoir within the city limits of Norman, in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Formed by a dam on the Little River. The lake was constructed between 1962 and 1965 for the purposes of providing municipal water to the communities of Norman, Midwest City, and Del City. It is dammed by Norman Dam, an earthfill embankment 7,300 feet long and up to 144 feet high. Locals often refer to the lake as "Lake Dirtybird" due to the high sediment content.
